Who’s Eligible?

Options for Assistance

The My Future: My Life initiative is open to all Queensland secondary students with a disability.

Eligibility criteria vary for each of the support options:

Workshops

To participate in a workshop you must be either a parent, carer or educator of a Queensland secondary student with a disability (irrespective of age or year level) or a disability professional working with secondary students.

Transition Preparation Support

To receive transition preparation support you must be a Queensland secondary student with a disability (irrespective of age or year level) or a parent, carer or educator of a secondary student with a disability.

Students will gain maximum benefit when parents attend a workshop prior to receiving transition preparation support.

Financial Assistance

To be eligible for financial assistance you must be a Queensland secondary student with a disability in years 11 or 12 (or year 10 in some rural and remote locations).

The student must also meet specific criteria related to:

  • Disability Diagnosis, and
  • Citizenship, and
  • Residency, and
  • Transition planning (SET Plan or Equivalent).
